How Salvage Atlas works
These guides explain the product in plain language. Detailed architecture and engineering contracts stay versioned with the project repository — linked at the bottom.
Browse reclaimed material on the Exchange, post a Wanted Ad for what you need, or find Recovery Projects — demolition, salvage, and removal work — on the Atlas. Crews and services are listed alongside material so buyers can line up the whole job.
A deal tracks offers, agreed terms, pickup, delivery, inspection, problems, and completion as separate steps — not one vague “paid” flag. Both sides can see the same history, and you can export the full record at any point.
A Material Passport records where material came from, how it moved, and the documents behind it — so a buyer can see its history before they commit. You choose whether a passport stays private or gets a public view.
Upload photos, reports, and certificates against your inventory, listings, and deals. Files that need a second look are flagged for review before they can be used — nothing silently changes hands.
Add your company, invite team members with roles, manage a public company page, and request verification. Owners control archiving and deletion — companies with history are archived, never silently erased.

Payments
Salvage Atlas is deliberately non-custodial: we never hold marketplace funds, act as escrow, or settle deals between buyers and sellers.
Stripe handles Salvage Atlas memberships, founding programs, and platform fees — the things you pay us, not the things you pay each other.
Platform access can also be paid in XRP or Ripple USD (RLUSD) on the XRP Ledger. A checkout invoice fixes the exact amount and assigns your payment a destination tag to the Salvage Atlas treasury; a server-side watcher verifies the validated transaction and activates the product. These are platform payments to Salvage Atlas — not buyer/seller settlement.
Platform access can be paid in native Circle-issued USDC on the networks shown at checkout — you choose the network explicitly. Each invoice pins the exact network and amount, and the verifier accepts only the canonical Circle contract on that chain; bridged or wrapped USDC never qualifies.
Marketplace deals are settled separately between buyer and seller — including any external wallet payments they arrange. Salvage Atlas is not a wallet custodian, escrow holder, merchant of record for marketplace deals, or settlement authority, and deal money never flows through the platform billing treasury.
Platform crypto payments are verified on-chain before any access is granted. Every platform purchase — whether paid through Stripe or in crypto — is invoiced in USD through Stripe with automatic tax calculation; the crypto amount is quoted from the finalized Stripe invoice total and the confirmed blockchain payment marks that invoice paid out of band. Salvage Atlas settles tax obligations from its USD funds outside the checkout flow; no crypto is reserved or converted for tax. Crypto assets are accepted as payment for platform products; Salvage Atlas does not mint, redeem, custody for others, or guarantee stablecoin value.
